Conference Details
Cost   The conference fee is US$200 per single person which includes conference fees, all meals, and shared hostel accommodations for 2 nights. For married couples, the rate is US$300 per married person or US$600 per couple which includes conference fees, all meals, and a hotel double room for 2 nights. Transportation to and from the conference center is not included. Go to the Registration Page for more details on payment.

Location   The Noah's Ark Conference Center is located in the beautiful Ma Wan Park on Ma Wan Island near Hong Kong. The island can be reached by either ferry or shuttle bus. Our hotel rooms and conference meeting areas will all be inside Noah's Ark near the bridge to the South of the island. This is a different area from the Noah's Ark theme park attraction that people need to buy tickets for admission. See Transportation below on how to get there. Transportation   Air:
The closest airport is Hong Kong International Airport (HKG). Please plan to arrive in Hong Kong before 4pm on Friday, October 23rd and to leave Hong Kong after 5pm on Sunday, October 25th. We will also plan a number of pre-conference and post-conference activities, should you want to extend your stay in Asia. When you have booked your plane ticket to Hong Kong, please email Christie (3M@laymansfoundation.org) a copy of your itinerary so that we may be able to coordinate travel plans.

To get to Noah's Ark from the *Hong Kong Airport*, we recommend taking the Shuttle Buses. Getting to Noah's Ark by Shuttle Bus:

Inside Hong Kong Airport:
  • When you arrive in Terminal 1 (International terminal), you will go through immigration and baggage claim.
  • Once you go through customs, you will come out in either Arrival Hall A or B. They are connected, with a Burger King right in the middle. So Burger King would be a good place to meet up with someone if you are traveling together.
  • There is also a China Construction Bank ATM machine where you can withdraw HKD$ without a fee if you use a Bank of America ATM card.
From the Hong Kong Airport:
  1. Arrive at Terminal 1 and look for signs out of the Arrival Hall to "Terminal 2".
  2. Do NOT go to "Trains to city" or "Airbus", but go down the escalators to Terminal 2 (very short walk. Do not go outside).
  3. You will see a number of bays along the wall ahead. Go to Bay #22 to catch Bus Route NR 334 that runs between Coach Station Terminal 2 to Park Island Bus Terminus. Buses leave every half hour, starting at 6:30am and going until 12:30am (last shuttle).
  4. Pay HK$24.00 flat fare for single 30-minute trip on the bus.
  5. If you miss the bus, you can always take a taxi cab straight to the island for no more than HKD$100 (~US$13).

Bus Terminus at the *Kwai Fong MTR Station*:

  1. Take the MTR to Kwai Fong Station (Red Line). Exit C on Kwai Yan Road. Walk straight down Hing Ning Road and go straight into the Kwai Fong Bus Terminus between Kwai Tsing Theatre and Metroplaza.
  2. Pay HK$10.00 fare for single 15-minute trip. Buses leave every 10-15 minutes starting from 6:30am (running 24/7!).
OR

Bus Terminus at the *Tsing Yi MTR Station*:
  1. Take the MTR to Tsing Yi Station (Orange Line from Central). Take Exit C. Tsing Yi Bus Stop will be right there in the Station.
  2. Pay HK$9.50 for single 15-minute trip. Buses leave every 15 minutes or so starting from 6:35am (running 24/7!).

When you reach the Island:
No matter which shuttle you take, as soon as you cross the bridge and get onto the Ma Wan Island, get off at the first bus stop (at Ma Wan Pak Yan Road Bus Terminus). You will see Noah's Ark just ahead. Walk into Noah's Ark and go to the Hotel, which is inside. Head to the 3rd Floor Lounge of the Hotel where you will see the 3M Check-in area.

Ferries: We do not recommend getting to the island by ferry only because the Noah's Ark ferry pier is on the north side of the island and you would have to walk about 10 minutes with your luggage to get to Noah's Ark. There are no taxis on the island. But if you are traveling light and do not mind the walk (parallel beach view), then feel free to take the 25-minute high-speed catamaran from either Central Pier No. 2 or Tsuen Wan Ferry Pier (See Schedule and Ferry pier locations.)

Lodging   Inside Noah's Ark, we will be staying at the hotel. To check-in, go to the 3rd floor hotel lounge where our 3M registration will be. We will all stay in comfortable hostel accommodations consisting of 12 rooms of 8 and 2 rooms of 4 for same-gender attendees to share. There are also 8 double hotel rooms for married couples. Your conference fee includes these accommodations for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday). If you wish to extend your stay in Hong Kong, there are many hotels on Hong Kong island or Kowloon ranging from HKD$300-$2000 a night. The two hotels nearest Noah's Ark are Hotel Novotel and Rambler Oasis Hotel.

Dress Code   Casual. Bring layers.

Cancellations   Nonrefundable, but you may transfer your registration to a replacement attendee in your stead.
